When I was in Paris this April visiting my Sister-in-law and her family (they have lived in Paris for the past four years on a government assignment), I came across this furniture store that had these really amazing bar stools in the window. I happen to be with my hubby and SIL at the time. We were just strolling down the street after an indulgent lunch, when I sucked in my breath (in euphoria) so dramatically (overly so, I'm sure) they both about dialed Paris's 911. I quickly steered them into the store to get a closer look. In addition to the bar stool, there were a couple of other gorg chairs. My love affair with the lucite chair had begun. That prompted me to check out a showroom at market called Acrylicore. Below are the pics I took in Paris and at Arcrylicore. The bar stool remains my fave. Which one is yours?
The Paris bar stool (I asked to have it taken out of the window for a better pic)
How about that damask velvet? Unfortunately, you can't see the pattern repeated in the lucite seat back
Okay, no lucite, but I love the chair this way too

Recently, Erin, at Elements of Style did a blog post on an acrylic version of the standard Chiavari catering chair. I have a set of the mahogany Chiavaris, but when I saw the acrylic one, I thought I would die. Okay, I didn't die but I did gasp. I want to trade mine in. They suck now.

Funny! I remember that showroom too. I WISH I was in Paris. I did just look at their info again last week to see if they had anything for a job I am doing. I think it may be to out of the box for them but I will give it a try just the same.
I love the damask! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a kind comment. 🙂
Oh my goodness…I think I would have passed out too when I walked by that shop. I love the bar stool, it is really amazing. That would make a girl’s heart stop!
But my absolute favorite has to be that Acrylicore chair. I love the etched look of the back? That is the type of chair that my dream’s are made of…to see something that fabulous, well, is so exciting in my book. It’s feminine, it’s elegant and I love the detail. Perfect!
Thank you for sharing and making my day. Really…this was soooo exciting!
By any chance to you know the name of the acrylic chair (see photo “Another Acrylic Chair)? I checked Acrylicore’s website and didn’t see it listed.
Thanks.
